If you've never been to a Cooking for a Cause (C4C) service opportunity, you might picture a bustling kitchen, pots and pans clanging, and the delicious aroma of food being prepared. And you'd be right! Cooking is definitely a central part of C4C, as we lovingly prepare meals for those in need, especially our friends at L Street Mission. But C4C is so much more than just cooking. It's an experience that nourishes the soul as much as the body.

Imagine this: laughter echoing through the fellowship hall, the clatter of Legos as kids build fantastical creations, and the quiet hum of conversations as friends catch up. Craft supplies spread across tables, transforming ordinary paper into heartfelt cards. And amidst all the activity, there are questions. Questions about God, about Jesus, about the very act of feeding others. We explore what we know, and perhaps more importantly, what we don't know about God's incredible, boundless love for each and every one of us.

A glimpse into a Friday C4C: T had helped Allie tape paper hearts all over the fellowship hall. After an evening of whisking and mixing, card making and Legos, we circled up. Then with an "on your marks, get set, go!" everyone tore around the room grabbing hearts and landing back where they started.

What do we know about God's Love?
It goes on forever!
It's for everyone!
What if you're very tall? Still!
Very tiny like a baby? Still!
What if you're from (fill in the blank)? Stillstillstillstillstill, came the answer little T.
Yes, T, God's love is for everyone, everywhere.

And T was absolutely right. God's love is for everyone, everywhere. That's the heart of C4C. It's about more than just the food we prepare. It's about the connections we make, the questions we explore, and the love we share. It's about experiencing God's love in community and then sharing that love with others.

Come join us for our next Cooking for a Cause and experience the magic for yourself!
