Community collaboration brightens L Street Mission
It was a special day at the L Street Mission this past Saturday.
The furniture purchased with the UCC Norwell June Breckenridge bequest had arrived earlier in the week and it made a difference in the dark basement environment at L Street.
During the devotion and prayer before lunch, Rev Abraham acknowledged God’s community that helps make the mission possible.. He spoke of the guests from the Brockton area that L Street serves, the churches from different denominations and all the volunteers. He then highlighted UCC Norwell with their generous gift of new furniture and continued support including preparing and serving today's meal. All the guests clapped and cheered. It was a special moment. Then, lunch was served and there were 11 UCCN members that helped prepare and serve lunch for the guests at L Street.
Below are a few before and after photos at L Street. As well as a thank-you note from Rev. Abraham.
Blessings and peace of Christ to you in this Lenten season,
Mark Newby, congregation member
On behalf of the brothers and sisters at L Street and Central United Methodist Church, Brockton, I am writing to thank you and the leaders and people of UCC Norwell for your very generous contribution toward replacing the tables and chairs at L Street making the space look brighter and more welcoming.
UCC Norwell has been a ministry partner with us at L Street and we pray for this continued partnership in the vast vineyard that is the Kingdom of God.
Please convey our gratitude to the mission team, the leadership of the church, the pastor and people of UCC Norwell.
Thank you,
Pastor Abraham Waya
